About Grit & Oyster

Andy Strange Grit & Oyster is a new media company that has been providing web design, development and advice, primarily to the voluntary sector, since October 1999.

Grit and Oyster is run by Andy Strange.

Andy has around ten years experience designing and developing web sites including four years as the Website Editor of a national children's charity.

He has provided advice to, and designed web sites for, a wide range of different organisations and has developed specialist knowledge of the role of new media within the voluntary sector.

He has a Masters degree in Multimedia Systems, a broad knowledge of web and Internet technology and different database systems, expertise in information architecture design, and an understanding of user interface design principles and the importance of usability.

Through this experience, and his work as a local councillor and political activist, he has developed an understanding of the role that new media and communications has in ensuring that an organisation can achieve its objectives.
